Back home after a chilly 16 miles on the bike. Just as it looks like it's going to brighten up, the mist and cloud cover thickens and the wind picks up.
Time for a coffee, a hot shower and an afternoon in the company of the radio.

Have you seen how deep a truck can sink into a grass verge? 😂
I remember meeting a lad in a fully loaded Bulker, he had went onto the verge on a single track road for some horses to pass, it was sunk upto the axles, the tractor from the farm where he had been to couldt shift it - they were waiting for a full on HGV rescue truck with winch (think £1000 call out charge)
He wasn't impressed with the horse riding community - LOL - I doubt his boss would have been very chuffed

Well, it's Sunday now and the hardware shops and a lot of supermarkets are shut - here in France.
Stroke of genius, found a 3m length of "any length" Jubilee clip. Knew it was tucked away somewhere.

A jury rig will be effected and a full repair undertaken when we reach a nation that speaks Jubilee clip.

Down side is that door has fallen off the cupboard was searching.
The bikes are still on the back of the van and it's freezing fog. No incentive to go cycling.

Well, the silencer is bodged enough to get back to a Quick fit or wherever.

And we actually got a late afternoon ride in.

Oldwheels has gone on his last journey to that land from whose bourne no traveller has ever returned.

My condolences Neil. He was an inspiration to all, still cycling right up towards his final journey.

That is very sad news and thank you for the update - I was hoping his absence was only due to technical problems. Always enjoyed his news from the north.

May he rest in peace in a place where CalMac never cancel a ferry.
