The non-recycling bin has been moved to the front of the house ready for emptying on Monday morning. There's not much in there so doesn't really need doing, but there's something in there that's starting to pong a bit and leaving it for another couple of weeks may be a bit of a health hazard.

Also had to spend some time before tea mopping up having opened a bottle of lemonade that promptly sprayed liquid all over the place. It's quite surprising how a little liquid can go some distance when released from being under pressure. When I open the second bottle it will be done in the sink while covered by a towel.

Reminds me the time I opened a rather dented can of tomatoes and got a jet of juice right in the eye.

I now crack them open (regardless of whether ring pull or can opener - the above was the latter btw) inside a plastic bag and with some degree of trepidation...

@Reynard, were your turkeys marked down this much?

Not quite.

I paid £25 and a bit for a bird that was £62 from memory. Soz, don't have the till receipt handy.

The one you show is considerably larger - seven and a quarter kilos as opposed to six. I guess the bigger reduction is a given in order to shift it, considering that not many people would have a use for a bird that won't fit into a standard oven LOL. Unless, like me, they'd debone and divide it up.

Fire banked for the night. Sat tucked up in bed with the non-furry hot water bottle and a mug of ginger, honey & lemon tea.

The furry hot water bottle is by the radiator, slowly turning herself into a kitty donner kebab.

Well, it's Sunday now and the hardware shops and a lot of supermarkets are shut - here in France.
Stroke of genius, found a 3m length of "any length" Jubilee clip. Knew it was tucked away somewhere.

A jury rig will be effected and a full repair undertaken when we reach a nation that speaks Jubilee clip.

Down side is that door has fallen off the cupboard was searching.
The bikes are still on the back of the van and it's freezing fog. No incentive to go cycling.

Try a bit further west: we have clear blue skies and bright sunshine here. You'll have to be quick though because there's a storm due on Thursday.
