Good morning from Suffolk where normal service has resumed - it's grey, chilly and currently raining quite heavily. Coffee has been had.

Another earlyish start for me as it's another away day - this time to Sheffield to see Sleaford Mods at the Leadmill. The overnight bag is by the front door ready to go but I'm still trying to decide the level of warm clothing required for the trip.

Quite a dusting of snow starting about 5 minutes north of Peterborough by train.

Nice and warm coat is in use. Most of my time will be on trains, in a pub/hotel/venue so it's only the quick walks between places I need to wrap up for

On de icer, I minded of a 'trick' recommended by a former REME lad some years ago. Mix meths & water one part meths to nine parts water and is very effective. Tried at the time, and seemed to work, so I've made a new mix up of 1: 5 so now wait for the next frost and I can report back - !

By 9am there was about one inch of snow on the ground. It has continued snowing but is now thawing.

Meanwhile, it's been raining most of the night but that's now changed to sleet so it won't settle. A good day for staying inside.

First lunchtime stroll around the block for a few days was nice and fresh.

A14 has been travelled and hospital visit and meeting completed.
