On de icer, I minded of a 'trick' recommended by a former REME lad some years ago. Mix meths & water one part meths to nine parts water and is very effective. Tried at the time, and seemed to work, so I've made a new mix up of 1: 5 so now wait for the next frost and I can report back - ! ^_^

Sounds like it needs a slice of lemon 🍋 ...

Massachusetts is still having brush fires

To whoever is in charge of the weather.

Dear Sir

I would like to bring to your attention that winter doesn't officially starts until December 21st. At the moment, it is still autumn and the temperatures should not drop below zero and snow should not fall yet.

I would ask you to rectify this situation immediately and let us enjoy what is left of this season.

Best regards
Gavroche

A dry sunny but very cold day. The guy who fitted my new electricity meter must have cold resistant fingers as it is not the sort of job you can do with gloves on.
I notice on my recent visits to the lower parts of the town that some motorhomes seem to have taken up long term residence. All free of charge of course as when the new car park was made we resisted charging as it would affect all residents just doing their shopping and there would have to be a traffic warden which would not be a popular job.
Oban had and possibly still has traffic wardens tho' I have not seen any recently. The most unpopular female one who lurked in doorways to nip out with a fixed penalty charge at every opportunity was known as Vinegar Tits.
From my windows I can also see the lights of a motorhome parked at a car park at a viewpoint popular with dog walkers. Been there for over a week now and was partially blocking the entrance so that only small cars could get in but too narrow for another motorhome.
