Our tv is father outlaws cast off when he got his 3d tv. we've had it a good few years now and is showing it's age a bit but still going strong
unlike the remote. After trying new batteries the remote is still very hit and miss, long press only looks to work. Just spent some time finding a new one. Amazingly I've found one. hopefully it works. Just watch the tv will go now.

Whilst waiting for the bus we saw a Postman in shorts, just another day for them outdoorsy types.

Our postie wears shorts all year round, including today and, no doubt, tomorrow, too.. ❄️

Well, after picking grandson up from school and heading to the chippie for saveloy & chips for him; pie, mash & liqueur for me.
Trip home was 'interesting' in as much as someone has run the traffic lights over so the roads are closed. I've parked my car about ¾ mile away and will walk back and get it later..

It's been a grey, damp and decidedly chilly day here chez Casa Reynard. No snow, though.

Slept OK, though the heffalumps are tap-dancing away. Had a gentle day doing chores. Also made my blackberry & apple jelly, and have been working on a poem.

I wrote it about six years ago, but have realised that the middle bit is plagiarized. That was totally unintentional. So I am re-working it so it can be used. Three verses have been deleted, and am trying to do something completely different with the bits that *are* original.

My mind is turning towards wanting a big hot bowl of soup.

Immediate post WAH banana hunt. Gambled correctly the evening peak traffic would be light today given the unfilled by the snow weather forecast. And the car would not need defrosting unlike most likely if I left it a couple of hours. Asda this time was back to normal on the bananas so Aldi visited where I found a bunch amongst the greenery on the turn to yellow. A bus stop layby was conveniently sited to avoid the sprayed grit from a gritter coming the other way.

You could try taking the remote apart and cleaning the contacts below the rubbery keypad thingy and on the PCB with alcohol.

A nice clear day, but a bit cold. Hardly the disaster the weather forecasts are predicting. The gritter lorry has just gone past again. The council are great at gritting the roads when it's not really necessary and then they'll have run out of materials when it is necessary!
