Afternoon trip along the A45 and back went well as did my afternoon cuppa

Not so the trip down the M1, past MK, for some.

An Aldi trek this afternoon with no diversions en route. Possibly the right thing to do as their was distinct dampness in the air which would have made for an unpleasant bike ride.
Remainding dull outside; suet ball feeder refilled, the sunflower hearts seem as unpopular as the peanuts - blue tit exempting.

Low cloud turned into real rain but I did manage a short walk along towards a path to Aros at the other end of the bay.
Wife and self walked along this path frequently for our lunch time exercise. There is a short stairway to access it at the car park end so did not venture up.

Looked out over the marina and looked for signs of people living on boats but nothing obvious. We use to have some living on boats all year round. One guy anchored down in a bay in the Diorlinn and motored up to tie up at the pier for shopping and some socialising in the Mishnish.
Another known as the drunken dentist who was in fact an Australian dentist imbibed rather too much in the Mishnish and had a very lucky escape when he fell out of his dinghy at the sea wall steps. He was spotted by a local and hauled out where a crowd had gathered and he was pumped out and revived. After that he moderated his imbibing and a few months later sailed off to parts unknown.
Unlike our exciseman who came out of the Mishnish and could not distinguish between clutch and brake in his Ford Zephyr but that is another story.

Afternoon cuppa went down well even though it was a shade later than normal.
Must get my costume and dancing shoes on soon

Can you perform under pressure?

A miserably grey day but the shopping got done and the fuel tank in the car has been filled ready for tomorrow morning. Treated myself to a big bag of chewy sweets from Lidl and went to put them away only to find another pack in the back of the cupboard from last time they were on offer.

At least it dried up enough late afternoon for a mudguard free 10 mile bike ride around Felixstowe and back otherwise I think I'd have sat on the sofa all day with the radio/TV/book combination.
