Nice sunny morning again and forecast to stay that way for the rest of the day.

The only big drama today seems to be Tesco threatening to open their Stornoway shop on Sunday.
Incomers expect everything to be open seven days per week but many are protesting that they are not guilty.
Discounting religion the sabbath was a day of rest for the workers but now some expect shops and other retail businesses to be open at night as well.
Tesco in Dingwall used to be open 24/7 but not been there for a few years now.
When we had a shop we never opened on Sunday, not for religious reasons but to have a day off.

It's a mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard after overnight rain.

Slept much better, but had to get up halfway through my sleep to deal with an excess of tea. Still feel tired, and am chesty and snotty. But I have spent the morning doing stuff, albeit at a slower pace. I have checked my apples in storage, wanged a few manky ones, and re-filled the fruit bowls. The apples of choice for the fruit bowl were Thodays Quarrendon.

I've also consolidated my walnuts into two trays. They are still not dry enough to store in a hessian sack and will probably need another two to three weeks of drying time before I can do that.

That did liberate two cardboard trays however, into which I put clean newspaper, and spread out the apples I picked yesterday into one, and the tomatoes I picked into the other. I also sorted out all the ripe tomatoes and put them aside. Those will be turned into another batch of tomato sauce later this week.

I just need to move the apples to the utility room at the back of the garage, as it is too warm in the house to store them long term. That's on the agenda for this afternoon if the forecast rain showers can be avoided, as is stripping the fruit from another pair of tomato plants.

Anyways, it is time for luncheon.

This morning SWMBO and myself went to write new wills. The old ones we wrote 32 years ago are still just about valid but the executors aren't in a position to execute these days ( too old / died).

SWMBO wasn't amused when I suggested it could all go to the Dawes Kingpin Owners Group and CC.

We've come to a more sensible and amicable solution

If "leakage" is theft, it's been there all along. Just that the type of person committing it daily is slowly changing. Done because there are fewer watching them.

Some stores are starting to rethink their self checkout usage, as it's starting to bite them in the backside

And the barriers are going in, treating all the customers as potential thieves.

The 'religious' reason is so you can have a day off.
