U-505 is in the museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, in a replica sub pen. It used to be outside, when I was ein kinder and was taken to see it. First maritime capture of an active war vessel in about 100 years for The Navy. I can always hop a train into the city if you need detail information for modeling. That will be a very big model.

Thank you for that information we have always liked to visit Chicago and Buffalo NY to see the USS The Sullivans another model warship I built in the 50s. Unfortunately we are in Vancouver this April coming but year after perhaps?

Stuck in a wet miserable Goosnargh. Mrs P has took her dad to the stroke clinic.I have changed his ɓed and replaced two battery operated smoke alarms.this is what is now getting me down.everytime we come here there is always a piggin job.one day I am going to flip, and let rip.there are two other blokes in this family and they have done sweet fa in thirty four years.i truly don't want to set foot in Goosnargh anymore.best thing about today we are going out for a pub meal.its only at the top of the street.

It stopped raining here this morning which allowed me to do some cleaning on my frame. There were rain clouds around so it would have been risky to go for a ride plus it has been a bit windy.
It seems like the cranks are stuck on. On one side all I succeeded in doing was to screw the puller into the threaded hole on the BB axle. I have left it for now.
The sun came out a little while ago.

OCold cloudy day but just damp rather than raining.
Spent most of the day sorting out stuff to take with me as I have a few ferry trips coming up soon.
Some people seem able to travel light as I used to but now everything seems more complicated and I end up carrying too much. Some of it stays in the car unless needed and I also have a “ hospital bag” which experience advises me to take on every journey nowadays as I have been detained after what were intended to be simple routine scans.

A friend who is an artist used to move to southern Spain about this time of year and stayed until about easter. Since it was out of season he was able to get accommodation easily and cheaply and lived by doing drawings and paintings which he sold to the winter tourists.
Seemed to work ok as he only had to pay for his bed and food.
He has now settled with a bidie in and a small gallery here which is in our old shop and he is about the same age as myself despite indulging in “herbal remedies “ for a long time.

It's been none stop rain , given up on trying to get out for a short walk and some fresh air. Made a start on doing some of house work that is normally done later in the week. Now trying to find something to do , don't feel like going anything much and TV is a dead loss. I've some washing to but on the airer so may do that and see what else I can do after. Charlies hardly moved from one bed or the other it's a bit too wet and cold for him.
