Talking of weather, it's steady drizzle here, been very wet since yesterday afternoon.
We used to have Cable TV in the 80s perhaps. (Sattelite companies were just getting a foothold back then ) and one of the channels was the weather channel, a simple grey screen with current and cumulative totals for the day of rainfall etc. It was then I realised...2 inches of rain in a day, is an awful lot of rain, heavy, all day.

The Cynthia Spencer (a hospice) Charity Ride in Northants has been cancelled today.
A wise decision due to the overnight & ongoing storm.
It would certainly have been a wet one!!

Dry but overcast with a NNE wind which did nothing for the tempature but did cause headwinds in unusual places as I rode the ebike to Sainsbury's this morning.Plenty of dog walkers about with docile dogs bar one thankfully on a lead that was clearly a Daily Mail reader as I passed by.

Saw a turtle in one of the local lakes whilst walking today. First time I’d seen it, though another walker said it had been rumoured to be there for years.

One of the ponds in Poole park was colonised by terrapins. They would take the occasional young duckling. People discarding no longer wanted pet terrapins are thought to be the original source.

One of the environmental disasters of the 80's was when well meaning activists released Mink from 'fur farms' they have no predators in the UK and devastated large stretches of riverbanks killing anything they could catch and piling it up for the winter that doesn't happen here.
Another 'release' is of American Crayfish which have devastated waterways
