Topped up the woodchip pits at the cat sanctuary where I volunteer.
Fifteen barrowloads, round trip to & from the woodchip pile to said pits, about 300 metres.
Thus reckon I walked around 4.5km. just doing that.
Result - !
The short stroll turned into just under an hour and a quarter/4 miles as there were a couple of podcasts that I wanted to re-listen to and the rain did hold off until just as it got dark.
Sausage baguettes were just what was required after the walk and there's a couple of sausages left for tomorrow to be had with spuds & peas.
Time for the daily hot chocolate.
Ventured out for about twenty miles on the single speed. Only one shower but pretty stormy. The nights are fair drawing in too. The dynohub and and nice German lights were one of my best cycling investments when it comes to this time of year.
I have touring plans for this weekend (booked a while back) but the weather isn't looking great. I might dig my cape out of the bottom of the wardrobe. If nothing else, it makes a good sail in favourable wind conditions.
Racing speed was up quite a bit this evening, despite this being the 'slowest' group. Came home with a win in the final race, plus a 2nd and 3rd from the other three. We had a bigger group with several very fit but less experienced riders = a hard race week.
