Quick check in with mum - stepfather is much better and up and about. They think it was just another infection or bout of cellulitis so I'm stood down from assistance duties.

Breakfast has now been had and the route northward to lunch decided on.

Very windy overnight and now in North Wales. Expecting rain later then forecast is for a settled week. I'm camping. Tent held up no problems, but the 20sqm tarp is trying to sail off into the Irish Sea. It's been anchored down with screw in pegs and 10 guy ropes.

SIL is nearby in her static but has caught the train down due to a recent cataract operation. She keeps hinting on lifts to Rhos on Sea, Llandudno and Tweed Mill (God help me now). I'm on my hols you know.

As the weather is bad we're taking her to Tweed Mill. At least I can escape to the cafe.

Lasted 20 minutes, gone for a coffee. Bit difficult ordering a coffee when on your own as you haven't got a table. The old folk bag a table before placing an order. By the time you've got served the table has been 'reserved'.

Argh, old people keep asking for a chair. I'm only doing what they are, taken ten minutes from order to get coffee. Awaiting the rest of the party to turn up otherwise they will lose their seats.

Sneaky these old folks.
