Grumblin at Garmin on the Granny Gear
I forgot to report that I changed my bedlinen yesterday. A fitted sheet got wrapped up inside a duvet cover and needed hanging up to dry after the tumble drier finished.

I'm off for brunch at my daughter's in a couple of hours. I might go up early and have a walk round Danson Park before that.

That's a fair distance away for you.

Being an Eltham Park boy, Danson Park & it's Open-Air lido were my stomping ground...

I was a lot closer than you, Faraday Road. We used to go to the park & play in the muddy unkempt part at the end of the lake. Sometimes I even went rowing in the children's boats.

I've still got 2 grandchildren at Hook Lane primary school. The entrance is on Faraday Road, so I know it well.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with salami (peppered Fuet), one with Kidderton Ash cheese, plus a pear, an orange and two :cuppa:

Picked strawberries, watered all the planters, zapped two slugs that had dared show their faces, and potted up some alpine strawberry runners for a friend.

Now sat watching the footy whilst supping on a :cuppa: and munching on a choccy biskit.

Will be carrying on with some writing now that I've moved a bunch of files from the laptop that I'm currently not using to the one that I actually am.

Grrr. Sealant, hate the stuff. Surely something else could be invented. Thinks of a three part product, something blu-tak like to push in gaps, a lightly tacky tape to lay across the line needing sealed over the top of the blu-tak and an activating product applied that turns the others to sealant
A Screwfix trek was required for a tub of sealant remover. Slight light drizzle at times but otherwise dry.

Summer has made a special appearance! So I celebrated with a walk around Reculver and was rewarded by the sound of a cuckoo alongside the Wantsum. That's the second cuckoo for me this year.

I got my first election pamphlet today. The Communist Party, surprisingly enough.

In my political activist days we met members of all political shades. The communist ones were the nicest people and we had a bit of banter every time we met them. I will refrain from naming the real nasty ones who ripped down everyone elses posters and destroyed any leaflets they got their hands on. Childish really as it did not do them any good.

Grey day and still cold. A shower looked to be approaching when I went out for a walk but it veered off eastwards before it reached us.
Nothing much achieved today as feel a bit sleepy.
The local directory called The Red Book has just been reprinted after amendments but now costs £8.00 for one copy.
Not checked to see if I am still listed but I am not paying that for basically a phone directory.

Now here in Whithorn for the night following a detour to see St. Ninian's cave which was hardly worth it.

I'm staying in one of these unmanned places where I got texted the door code and room number. I folded the Brompton up and took it into my room as I couldn't see where else to leave it.

I better not accidentally drop a white towel on top of the chain which was what happened last time I took it into my room for the night...
