Any idea who'd ride a 21" frame?

No idea but lot 390 looks more fun.

I have the last two weeks of the month of work as I had wanted to get out of town to avoid the mayhem caused by the car rally and it's hangers on.

After procrastinating and then deciding against the Hebridean way as it is probably too busy at the moment and then not doing anything, I find myself on my way for a Brompton adventure in Dumfries and Gallowau, all planned last minute. Accommodation approximately half of what it would cost in the south of Ireland so it's worth the ferry trip.

Despite the doom and gloom in the weather forecast cast, today is beautiful at the moment as I look out across a very tranquil sea from on board the European Highlander.

The chap doing the measurements for the carpet didn't turn up until nearly 13:00 which gave me a free morning to do a bit of tidying up and clearing out of a few old bits. One thing I found was an unopened pack of Minidiscs (remember them?) which I don't know why I had kept as my player broke and was thrown out at least 10 years ago. Out of interest I stuck them on Ebay and in less than 4 hours they'd been sold and were in the post to the buyer. By the time fees & postage have been accounted for I've only made a tenner, but I didn't realise there was still a market for 'old' tech.

Minidisks have to be one of the best recording mediums there is. I used to use a small, cheap pocket recorder & got excellent results.

Fish and chips have been consumed, and Gigi has received a piece of cod for her tireless work of tearing up things around the house. She has passed the thunder test, as we had a great storm around here last evening. She is, however, afraid of fireworks and firecrackers, which means she will probably hide in the house all day on the 4th of July.

Lot's of people in the UK will do the same.

Yep I've got a few from HiFi component ones (2 of) to portable ones (3 of) better than MP3 compression/expansion.

is the canal still open?
Todays home made bread used up the last of the 16kg of brown bread flour I bought last autumn. Had to top up slightly with plain flour. That together with bread & butter pudding saw the milk bought this morning opened and depleted by at least a third.
