Having a brew in a dark living room.We have grey sky and rain, anyway.Whilst looking for my socks under the bed this morning i found a bag of energy. So in my wisdom i have used it to do some cleaning.Bathroom first, then our bedroom. That got a real doing over.Bedside cabinets moved beds pulled away fro the wall.Yes i did say beds two wonderful single beds oh the sleep is wonderful when you have all your own duvet.Anyway fluff cleared off skirting boards and carpet under cabinets. Then i started on the staircase. The bag of energy i found was only small,so i will just finish off with hoovering the staircarpet and call it a draw for today. There is always next week.

Got a nice trike run this morning in sunshine but black clouds hovering around so made it quick tho' rain has still not appeared.
My rear view mirror had been altered and then tightened up presumably by Kinetics when the trike was in for repair and I could not get it set right as it needed the only allen key I did not have with me. A bit awkward but I managed.
Lots of people on bikes and some cyclists. There is a difference as the ones on bikes all had similar type hybrids and shiny new looking helmets whereas the cyclists had different gear and different type bikes. The one with a small girl cycling in front looked like a regular cyclist.
They were all spread out in different small groups and did not appear to be connected. I wonder if they know what is ahead of them as there is a vicious hill they need to get up [unless they have a short trip and take the dirt road by Loch Frisa] but there is always the two foot gear. The trouble with either version is that it brings you out on to the main road which is not nice with the volume of traffic on the single track.

I'm definitely going to set some beer traps tomorrow. I have discovered a couple of bottles of lager in the cupboard that I bought for someone but then never gave them. Will also try the ring of axle grease around my pots, planters and bins.
Rember to plant the pot or what ever your using for the trap a good 1/4 in proud of the ground. Stops any ground beetles falling in they feel the side of the pot and go round. The slugs will just go up and in.

Cool here chez Casa Reynard, with a mixture of sunshine and showers moving through on a fairly brisk breeze.

Did not sleep overly well. Gave up, and ended up in front of the telly watching Trooping the Colour. No further slug damage to the plants overnight. On the other hand, the bucket of dead slugs looks totally rank, and will have to be dealt with at some point. xx(

Most of the rest of this weekend will be spent watching football and listening to Radio Le Mans.

It is almost time for luncheon.

After a dry start just back from town in time before the heavy rain started.
As it was raining I spent the time watching the Troping of The Colour. It may look a waste of time but for the ones taking part it means a lot. We may have many things wrong as county but as some one who knows. To pull off drill like that takes some doing and team work no one else can do it like we do.
The whole thing is full of odd facts. Here's a few , When part of the escort to and for the colour it's the only time a Warrant Office draws his sward on parade. The drum horses of The Mounted Band of the Household Cavalry officially hold the rank of major. Todays two included Juno who is the 1st female drum horse. The King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery is the most diverse part of the Army 60% of it's members are Women. Not for getting the massed bands spinwheel turning a full 90° turn how it work no one knows. It's not written down or formal instructions. It's all word of month past down the years. which makes it even more of wonder.

Just got a message allegedly from Apple saying my phone is being used for messaging just now but certainly not by me.
I wonder is this another scam as I also got a message telling me to log into my Itunes on CC.

If they give you a shortcut to log in to, then it probably is a scam.

That said, my dentist does send emails to a questionnaire just before an appointment. Makes me very twitchy.

So the Govt. in their wisdom have now banned the use of Hexamine tablets. Apparently, for someone with 'some knowledge of chemistry', they could be used to make explosives. So can nitrate fertiliser; is that going to be banned on the same basis I wonder - ?
On the health side, because Hexi tablets contain formaldehyde, there is a small possible health risk if you're exposed to a lot of them or eat too many.
But as they've been around for nearly a hundred years, why has this only now come to light - ?

Beware of governments who exists to ban things.
