Googling the companies which produced some of the drawings that I catalogued on Wednesday has confirmed that I'm dealing with transmission components.

OK, when I say components, I'm quite literally talking nuts, bolts, spacers and bearings here.

It's quite fascinating to see who has bought out who over the years, and how small engineering companies end up in multi-national conglomerates.

Then some manager will come along who thinks he can make a quick bob or two and sell them all off again !

We got 50% of ours back, as we approached Leeds station I was mentally urging the driver to slow down, as we were 58 minutes late and another 2 minutes would have seen us get 100%

I'm sorting out 2 friends bikes . I was just looking at them parked side by side and feeling confused! One bike is a classic steel framed Dawes 25 inch which I find is a bit tall, I'm about 5' 10 "1/2 my friend is about 6'. The other bike is a modern style Vitus , not sure what size the frame is but my other friend is shorter than me at about 5' 7''. Looking at the bikes side by side there seems to be only an inch difference in saddle height! How on earth does he ride it ! I'm thinking " How do I get my leg over that!".
