Good morning from York. From what I can see outside the hotel window it appears to have rained overnight, but is just windy at the moment.

Time to head back home in about an hour - no weather related train cancellations yet.

My wife wants me to remove an electric socket which is sticking out and chisel some of the brickwork back and also remove some rawl plugs so that we can redecorate! I'd much rather be tinkering on that lawn mower to see if I could get it working!

Bright sunny day so far and the wind has gone round to SW.
Medication sorting and ordering day. There are often problems of supply to the pharmacy so I try to keep at least a month ahead in stock. I thought some Peptac would be handy but it cannot be got and excuses given to the pharmacy range from global warming to the war in Ukraine. I could get Gaviscon but I would need to pay for it whereas Peptac can be given in Scotland at least on a pharmacy prescription which costs me nothing.
Ernie has doled out £150 this month which should pay for my next mainland visit. Bail out accommodation has been alerted that I could appear if the ferries go AWOL.

The bedsheets washed yesterday are approximately 46% dry.

I hope the brickwork you'll be chiselling at is well away from the recently removed plug.
