About ten years ago, Mrs R was invited by the US government to give a keynote lecture on health care. She applied for a visa but was turned down because she had been deported in 1976 for working without a work permit. She'd been a volunteer on a summer camp and the lifeguard broke his leg. Being qualified she stepped into the paid role and someone ratted to the authorities.

She did eventually get a visa after a series of interviews at the US Embassy and even now she has problems with immigration when she arrives in the US.

So I guess you'll be OK as long as you aren't planning on eloping with her to the States.

She's far too frisky a filly for me.

I have pleurisy once again. Bloody painful and makes it hard to breathe. This follows on from the cold I had last week while on leave from work.......
Will it all just p*ss off and leave me alone!
I like to breathe without pain - just a little quirk of mine don't you know
Oh dear, get well soon.

My 24 year old VW pickup with almost 300,000 on the clock which I have just awakened from it's two year slumber and given a quick wash and a clean and fixed a minor electrical fault with the horn has passed it's MOT on the first attempt:ohmy: I couldn't see anything obviously wrong with it but I was still expecting the longest fail sheet in history!

My pastry had a bit too much water, I misread 120mL as 1200mL Tho' I did stop at ~300mL

At least your pastry didn't explode like my lard water mix did. It lifted the pan a foot off the stove and sprayed the cooker, ceiling walls and floor with lard and water. That's superheated water and a nucleating agent for you.

I am free on 7 May.....what time? I'm not sure I know any good pie shops but I could find somewhere suitable to meet for a drink and some sustenance.

I have an 08:30 interview appointment at the US Embassy and short of being extraordinarily renditioned I'll hope to be free well before lunch time.
