We have returned from the pub. A sausage baguette, a slice of white chocolate cheesecake and three pints of Everards Original and I'm feeling quite mellow.

I have just plugged in and connected the new Tivo box and it's now 'starting up' very mundane exciting

The lighting unit in my fish tank has died, £100 for a new one.

The glass door on the 20 year old top oven in the kitchen has just 'exploded' when I opened it. Went off like a bomb. Glass fragments (remember Triplex windscreens?) everywhere. Cut leg too. Amazingly, can still get a new door, but almost 1/3 of the cost of a new oven.

New oven time then. That wasn't in the budget......

No more irritating Humax Freeview box and it's inability to do the one thing I ask it to, ie record a show and let me watch it back

I'm currently engaged in combat with the replacement hinge for our bottom oven door. I didn't get the re-assembly sequence right and it's currently jammed in place with the screw that would free things up in an inacessible spot.

Time for a brew and a think.
