I've just ordered 2 merino tops for £16 each from Aldi. They have a cycling offer but I pre-ordered online. They're called tops but they'll be base layers by the time I wrap up for winter outings.

Dunno 'bout the top. What's in it isn't bad...

There used to be some archaeological programmes which examined injuries inflicted in battle. I seem to remember one, I think it was from Towton where one of the injuries was to a persons jaw bone which had been severed but had healed. This led to the archaeologists to do some research into mediaeval medical practices which treated such wounds using honey. In another programme they reconstructed an implement that was used to extract an arrow head that was lodged in the face of one of the kings.

Yes I vaguely remember that one, didn't they do a facial model that showed what he looked like?

It might have been, it was a little while ago now. Meet the Ancestors used to do facial reconstruction, the one involving a monk with a family crest of a hand was very interesting. When they revealed the reconstruction to the closest relative the similarity was amazing, it was also revealed that all of the male's in the family had large hands.

Theres been a few that have used reconstructions, I think it was Meet The Ancestors that did this one, they did some good reconstructions, the thing I remember about this was how disfigured he was from the injury, though it was amazing that he survived at all with how limited their knowledge was.

So they're about to give you drugs to get you unstoned! Strange old world! Hope the procedure goes smoothly.
