Why be a pedant when there's absolutely no need?. Royle/Royal, so what? I'm sorry that things must be so bad for you at the moment that you have to elevate yourself by putting peoples spelling down.

The difference is that one is a British TV comedy, while the other is either an American TV sitcom or a reference to the family of our monarch.

Sorry that hit a nerve with you, no offence was intended.

Me too and but Craig Cash went on to write and perform in Early Doors which was just fantastic.

I am fortunate in having only recently discovering " Early Doors " It's a gem and I still have a lot of it to watch.
With regard to Mrs Browns Boys I sat through an episode when visiting relatives but found it dire. I remember reading quite a while ago about it being very popular among elderly Bre*it voters.

From the Metro story it seems it’s the Marmite of TV shows then.

I suppose Remainers think Fleabag was the greatest sitcom in the history of television. The Guardian seemed to think so.

I did not vote Brexit, the outcome hurt me financially, but I have laughed at Mrs Browns.

Is this without watching it too? Fleabag is very funny.

Re: @screenman's query, I prefer stuff that's more surreal funny. Mighty Boosh, Black Books, Hunderby, Green Wing, Rick & Morty, Murder in Successville, Bojack Horseman etc. Occasionally more mainstream stuff tickles me but it's not often that happens.

I watched about five minutes. Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character made out to stab her boyfriend (was it) in the shower with a kitchen knife, thinking it would be hilarious. He agreed it was a funny prank after he recovered from the fright.
I grant you it was funnier than 2.4 Children, but was it funnier than those Open University tutorials late night on BBC2 in the 80s?
