I've just finished watching the Porsche Supercup support race from Austria - unless they were using the 'old' track limits where it's the edge of the curb defines the edge of the track and not the white line, then it would have been easier to report the drivers that stayed within the limits.

Can't use gravel at turns 9 & 10 due to it also being used for Moto GP. I'd go with the MSV style pressure pads and camera as indisputible proof.
And I know that only selective radio messages are broadcast, but why do we only hear Hamilton complaining? I did like one of Toto's replies which was effectively "shut up, stop moaning and just drive"

Yeah, but that's still not going to stop them from doing it, is it?

Although it will make the penalties easier to apply, rather than fannying around with the results five hours after the race finished...

Hamilton started moaning about others after he was given the five second penalty. He wasn't the only one who was overheard on the radio saying that others were doing the same as him.

There were some questioning other drivers actions, way before Hamilton started moaning.

Yep, but more of his complaints were aired than any other driver from what I remember from this afternoon's radio listen. I'll watch the race at some point this week.

Exactly.
I still remember talking to one marshall at Sillystone after a practice session for the Blancpain GTs who commented that he'd put in hundreds of reports and that was just at Copse!

And yet there was little complaining from the other Mercedes driver.

Just put a wall all the way around, go to fast & too hard into a corner & the wall will stop you running wide.

That's what I said... They seemed to stay within track limits at Monaco and on the final part of the last chicane at Canada.
.. well this year anyway....

Or just let them reach the natural limits and don't bother with this palaver and self inflicted farce.

If this carries on they'll have to do the prize giving at the subsequent races.

Also think this 1 part of 1 tyre on the track is daft it ought to be 2 whole tyres on track at all times

As of 1st June (and the start of the season for BTCC & British GTs), the UK regulations have been that all 4 tyres must be within the track limits. Imagine that for F1.

But that is the defining part, what are the track limits, even when doing trackdays we always would take some kerb, to straight line the corner slightly, when the BTCC's were at Knockhill last year they were just ignoring the 2nd part of the chicane all 4 wheels were the wrong side of the kerbs let alone the white line.

He's come up with the clever idea that leading teams should have development time capped on next year's car to prevent periods of dominance.

Strangely enough he didn't come up with this idea while it was him enjoying a period of dominance.

In his day he was an ace wheelman, but every time he opens his mouth diarrhoea comes out.

Yes, it's funny, but their dominance wasn't quite as dominant, apart from a mechanical failure, or an out of position start & then getting caught up in somebody else's accident, I cannot see there being any other team winning a race this year.
