If Red Bull are the only team to make their DRS work so much better , especially if it improves , then this could be the end of DRS. Of course there would be a raft of poorly thought out, ineffectual rule changes before that happens.
Bar & the blown diffuser springs to mind, but to be fair the other teams sort of got a handle on it in 6 months rather than the 18 months this is taking, I have always felt that was the only reason Button ever became champion, his car was far superior, although his drive in Brazil was awesome, if only he'd driven like that more often

Brawn not BAR I think ? That drive in Brazil was probably his best ever drive .

The diffuser was copied pretty quickly but that was in the days of 'unlimited' spending and I do wonder if it would be that easy with todays spending cap.

Sorry, yes Brawn, who had been involved in the discussions about the new regulations the year before in a technical capacity, but clearly wasn't aware of any changes or loopholes that could be exploited. Although it may have been 'copied' it wasn't until after the summer break that the difference was felt, unless my memory of what happened is different to what did actually happen, which is not a new phenomenon

About mid season sounds about right to me.

Yes - my recollection of that season is that JB romped away in the first half, then stopped romping in the second half but had built enough of a lead to hold on.

What happened in Malaysia I don't remember did it get washed out on half points?

Didn't his team mate pick up a lot of points in the second part of the season as JB faded away?
Yes I think the pressure got to him, seem to remember it being a very close thing, the Brazil drive being the clincher, something happened & he went to the back of the field (or close to) then had to get back to a position to be champion, which he achieved.

He did fade away, but to be fair the Brawn cupboard was bare and they could afford virtually zero development and upgrades in-season.

Meanwhile the opposition were spending it like water in comparison and bringing upgrades to almost every race.

Yes, I did hear that mentioned somewhere.
