He forgot to shut his DRS.
I didn’t know that the driver is responsible for opening and closing DRS. I thought it was an automatic process.

Opening DRS is a manual process. Shutting it is usually automatic, when the driver either brakes or lifts off, however at that turn the drivers enter the corner before braking so they have to manually deactivate DRS. Apparently Doohan had found in the simulator that he could enter the corner flat out, but it seems that real world physics disagreed.

Hadjar a very creditable 7th! Ramilton 8th behind the new boy.

Max on pole, but whether he can make it stick is, of course, another matter entirely.

Lawson out qualified Tsunoda, which I'm actually quite pleased about.

DRS closes automatically when the brake is applied but they don't use the brakes into turn one anymore , which is nuts.

Hadjar managed that with a squashed bollock !

Hadjar finished 8th! Brilliant result. He seems a guy that likes to quietly get on with the job, even when his love plums are being crushed.

And there is now only one point separating Norris from Verstappen at the top of the championship. For all the talk of McLaren's car they never really threatened Max.

And a nice result for Albon. I know Sainz is still settling in, but I'm wondering if he was worth the money after all..?
