Gone in sixty seconds, not a bad film (the original was probably better but dated)

Good point actually, I'd be tempted to chuck in National Treasure and Face/Off too.

Of course, much as I like those films, all someone has to do is say 'Wickerman' and I've got nothin'.

I vaguely watched one the other night. It featured Gerard Butler being knocked about by a psychotic Pierce Brosnan.

Now.

King Leonidas getting thumped by Remington Steele?

I still cringe when I think of Leonidas in a scottish accent. Truly awful, but then so is Gerard Butler.

I lost all interest in that film the moment one of the characters referred to it being the month of August, when of course everybody knows that it wasn't until many hundreds of years later that such a month existed.

I quite like the Jack Reacher books (not literature, but pass the time nicely).

Then Tom Cruise does a film!
Quite.
Reacher - Six foot five, 240 pounds. built like a brick outhouse.
Cruise - Five foot seven, 170 pounds, looks like my Mum could take him in a fight.

They could almost have been separated at birth :banghead:

Carneios?
Perhaps a film based on a graphic novel is not the place for a digression on Hellenic calendrical systems..

Jude Law as a sniper in Stalingrad in "Enemy at the Gates". A terrible film - Derek Nimmo would have been more convincing as a ruthless killer.

2 years dead at the time it was released, he'd certainly have the 'kill' part of the role down...

Am I limited to only living actors in order to make a point? I nearly used Charlie Chaplin as an example.

[edit]

Anyway, here's a list of individuals more suited than Jude Law to play the emotional range of a ruthless sniper in the battle for Stalingrad

Sid James
Champion The Wonder Horse
Either Jedward
TMA1
Fenton
Colonel Blink The Short Sighted Gink

I have no idea what the film was like - I'm not even going to bother watching it.

Agreed. I hesitated before calling him a short arse smart arse as I am trying to be nice these days and not upset anyone. But so far I have not had any disagreement.
He was well cast playing Austin Powers as the movie star in the third Austin Powers film but I am not convinced he saw the joke.
