These people live in a different world.
Surely its grey not gray.
Is it not?And it's not its.
Ridiculous, BBC one and two broadcasting a four hour Philip special, the exact same programme at the exact same time and it's being repeated until breakfast time tomorrow on both channels. That's complete overkill. Where's the balance, lots will want to watch it, lots won't.
I don't like being shovel fed stuff in this manner. BBC radio is the same. No other news on the world at one, same on pm and I'll bet the guests on any questions tonight are not the original panel. ITV have done the same. At least channel four still have normal schedule programmes with a few Philip specials thrown in.
Yes it's sad, he was a seemingly decent man but it's not going to affect me in any way other than the fawning media coverage wrecking my schedule.
It certainly deserves a lot of attention and broadcasting but this is ridiculous.
Is it just me getting a bit confused by the use of "to pass" as a euphemism for "to die". For years the euphemistic term was to "pass away". Dropping the "away" and leaving just "pass" leaves me thinking of the euphemism for "to excrete".
And as for "stay home" rather than "stay at home". Don't get me started. I'm not sure what the technical term is for these little modifiers but they see to be endangered. They look like prepositions but that may not be what their role is here. Adverbial somethings maybe?
In a sort of related question, in the coverage I've frequently heard him called HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh when I would have thought it should be HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh. Is there any reason for this, or just some sort of mistake?
Does all this really tick people off as much as it appears to do?
I get the impression most posters on here are intelligent 40 plus adults who have probably achieved a fairly comfortable standard of living, apologies if I'm wrong, so why the hatred and resentment to wealth the Royals have?
It's like watching 'The young one's' and no not Cliff's film, I generally didn't realise the scale of people's dislike of both the Tory Party and the Royal Family.
I've always thought that people who moan and whinge about what others have are somehow resentful and feel hard done by, if not and they're whinging for something to do then it's all false because it doesn't matter when you're financially sound, it's a bit of an act.
the terminally dense
Don't tempt me Paley.
Have you been living under a rock?I generally didn't realise the scale of people's dislike of both the Tory Party and the Royal Family.
