Yep, I do listen to Absolute but it's full of advertising but I mean there should be a national BBC station playing instrumental band music.
Not playing bad rap music to youngsters through Radio 1because it's PC.

Gather Bauer are looking at providing paid for premium versions of their stations, presumably on line only, which will be advert free. Might mean they need to extend the playlist on Greatest Hits Radio beyond the few dozen they have.

They already do Scala Premium. They advertise it enough to irritate you into subscribing 😡

R2 plays quite a variation of pop
R3 and R4 can't be many who listen to them
R6 plays the new stuff trying to break through and alot of rubbish
So where's the national station that will play indie, rock band type music new and old, eh. We need one!

If it played more varied music they would like that.
American and Australian stations don't play it mainstream, they play band music.

You could pay to listen Absolute Radio then you don’t get the adds and you can skip the tracks you don’t like .

I like Ken Bruce but popmaster is the only thing I sometimes tune in for.Listen to 6 music at work,or sport.Digital radio was a revelation for me 😁

Blimey, Vine is only on between 12-2 and R2 does play a fairly mixed bag (although I must confess during Eurovision I got massively fed up of 'spaceman' every half hour).
