First big ride of the year for me today, not much climbing and i didn`t stop for lunch anywhere, so i struggled a bit...was really cold, had a few wobbly bits when i hit ice patches but never came of the bike...just had a massve bacon double chesseburger, that hit the spot...No drink for me tonight either, had a few with the girlfriend last night but that will be the last for a while, need to drop the weight before the evans sportive in March.

Hoping to get out for a bit in an hour or so, typical it gets dark about then  dam ice seems to be back with a bang so back to waking up and seeing if it's actually safe to cycle

met office ice and snow warning for tonight and tomorrow.
Cycling into work this morning at 7 was not bad. I went round the park, used the main road instead, and walked out of my housing scheme.
Even with ice tyres, better not to tempt fate.

Had a wee toddle down to Kilmaurs today, and luckily managed to stay upright - just as well as, in anticipation of the cold, there was a suggestion of Superman in my underlayers, which I wouldn't really have wanted to share. Roads were mostly free of ice, except on the Stewarton Road after White Loch, and the worst was on the A77 cycle path which I left after a fairly short distance and continued on the carriageway. No point in tempting fate.

Declared myself fit for next Saturday, and looking forward to it:smile:

:hello:Hello, back from Austria & the sunny south (of England) and catching up with CC ... :B) ow, what's this with all these offs, hope everybody and their bikes are OK and improving rapidly!
Will stick to the main roads on the commute tomorrow ... must fit my new ice tyres tomorrow evening and get them bedded in quickly, never got round to it before Christmas with all the work that needed finishing off and rushing about . Looks like it's going to get a wee bit colder over the next few days.
