Have a female friend looking o start road cycling, on a small budget. Any of the ladies have suggestions on around 200 quid bike new or used?
New may be difficult with that budget, I think at least 350 for something new half decent. Used, plenty, why don't you look on the Bay for her?

I can't see any pictures, not on here not on the other place.
Who won? Not @Edwardoka I guess ^_^
I have loaded pics into my cycling 2016 album on the other place. I'll let @Edwardoka describe his day.

Things started well, Felt really good to have sun on my skin and wind in my hair and Arran under my wheels. I was doing well, climbing quite happily just behind the two racing snakes until the group stopped in a village called Lagg at the bottom of a 20% valley.

On the climb back out, my legs cramped up horribly near the top, and that was the end of my day of fun and the start of my day of pain.
So long as my legs could turn, I could ride along quite contentedly, but if I couldn't spin my legs, I'd get lactic acid really quickly and cramp up.

@Louch even beat me in the sprint finish to the cafe stop

After the cafe stop I pushed hard to open up a gap so that the others wouldn't be left waiting too long at the top of the Bogoullie for Crampy McCrampface.
Gave up outside the distillery in Lochranza when I badly needed to stretch and realised they were only a few bike lengths back.

I then made my way to the ferry at my own pace with the thought of if I miss it, I miss it. C'est la vie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I didn't miss it, but I did get accused of getting the bus :gun::boxing:

@Edwardoka I feel for you: me too I get stiff legs when I stop, find it hard to start again, no cramps though.
In my case, it takes me a wee while to get warmed up, but then I could carry on forever at my pace. I know my issues are because I'm not a spring chicken ^_^ but you will be fine after a few spring rides: do the Arran loop again in August :okay:
