I'm ground floor though,
That does make a difference. Must remember to ask the downstairs neighbour to turn her thermostat up a few notches; she's getting a bit "parsimonious"!
My brother has a flat directly above a busy café. He didn't realise how much heat he was getting from it until it closed down. He had never had to use his heating until then .

Rejoice: I got a wee bit wet on the commute home
You're human after all! :okay:

Ya ( ... stingy - don't know how to score formatting on here ) erm, I mean parsimonious fellow
The strike through option is back in its old original location. If you highlight the text you want struck through, click on the insert option which is the right hand icon in the 6th block, you will see quote, spoiler, code and... The one you are after strike through!

Great read  I've been on the bike everyday this week so far and beginning to enjoy it again :okay:
His Round The World By Bike adventure had a profound effect on me (I followed it at the time). He's a hell of a writer.
Sadly, the world is vastly more dangerous now. I don't think his route is even possible any more.

I wonder if any of our new found Syrian friends are waking up this morning and wondering what they have let themselves in for? :cold: :rain:.
Those heading for a new life on Bute better hurry up and get on the ferry before the wind scuppers their plans for the rest of the day!
Welcome to Scotland :hugs:.
Yeah, they should have seen the latest weather warning

It's officially winter. Central heating is on tonight for the first time since about March :cold:.
You see, much as (some of) you west coasters greet about your higher rainfall, you do enjoy balmier temperatures than us east coasters who have been getting used to the sight of snow on the hills for the past week or more .

Looking at the forecast for the end of the week, I have only just reluctantly switched on the first storage heater. Fed up sitting here freezing. :cold:

Abi-Gale finally made it to Glasgow: got nearly blown off the bike tonight! :B)
Still, it stopped raining instantly when I got out of work, while the temperature was far too hot for my cheapo kind of baselayer under the excellent Altura night vision jacket.
Back to a thinner top tomorrow

I think you may be one gale behind Pat, are you sure it was a lady gale tonight?
The Met boffins had been forecasting a man gale named Barney.
Ops! Sorry, did not realize, haven't had time to look at forecasts.
Actually, the only time I bother checking the weather forecast is if I'm going to take people out for a bike ride, a bad one means the numbers will dwindle.
For myself, if a lady has got to go, this lady is going! :bicycle:
