Yeah, if you're not interested in riding hard or testing yourself it is incredibly tedious... or if people are doing strict rides at a certain time/distance/effort for pure training it isn't much fun.
I really love it when you get a line of riders, start off slow, after each lap the front rider moves to the back, until everyone has had a turn at the front and then the pack starts accelerating. If you can't get back onto the back of the pack after a stint at the front you can drop off and do your own thing, and the rest of the pack keeps getting faster and faster, shelling people out the back as they do so, until it ends up in a 1v1 or everyone else gets dropped.

Otherwise known as a CHAIN GANG!

Well I've passed the application stage for Police Scotland, got my fitness and other tests on 5th October :wahhey:
DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!
Only kidding; sort of ... Next time we meet, ask me why.
Congrats on getting through the application process. I believe it is much harder these days. In 1982 you just had to be 5'10" or more and able to spell your name.

Anything is better than what I'm currently doing and I won't know if I'll enjoy it until I try
True. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad job for the most part. I tend to compare it to what it was like when I joined 33 years ago (seems like yesterday). The conditions of employment have changed somewhat since then, as has the actual job - beyond recognition actually. However you are right in that you need to compare it to the alternatives available today rather than how things were in 1982; and in that respect I suppose it is a more attractive proposition :okay:.

In 1973, we got two chances at spelling our name:becool:
Is that why you just go by the initials GBC? :okay:
