Swapped tyre from,old wheel to new one

Return to tyre to find it flat

Swap inner tube

Ride

Find tyre softening

Try to pump up, needle pulled off tube by pump again

Walk home

Today I learned - I am still hopeless at changing tubes without pinching, and that my pump is an evil thing.

I'm down in that there London for the weekend, and you'll not be surprised to hear that I seem to have brought some of the wet stuff with me. Managed to get a good soaking last night riding from Euston to my Travelodge at Heathrow (I eventually did opt for the train/bike combo @slowmotion ).
Dry today and went to the Notting Hill carnival. Rain forecast tomorrow again. It's to be nice on Tuesday though, which will look nice out of the northbound train window .

It really is uncanny. I used to play golf with my brother in Rothesay, and he swore blind that the rain only ever started when the ferry I was on docked at Rothesay. I ended up giving up golf - no great loss because I couldn't play it for toffee!

My motorbike mates christened me the rain magnet for similar reasons. I could go on about my week in Majorca last year when it rained for 5 days on the trot (out of a 7 day holiday), but I'd only make myself paranoid......
