I'm down in that there London for the weekend, and you'll not be surprised to hear that I seem to have brought some of the wet stuff with me. Managed to get a good soaking last night riding from Euston to my Travelodge at Heathrow (I eventually did opt for the train/bike combo @slowmotion ).
Dry today and went to the Notting Hill carnival. Rain forecast tomorrow again. It's to be nice on Tuesday though, which will look nice out of the northbound train window .
Oh dear! We didn't have a drop of rain in Banffshire in all of our four day stay, apart from a downpour on the way back to Aberdeen Airport. BTW, the countryside is beautiful and the locals are friendly. Wonderful.

Good day at Crieff Hydro yesterday, started to rain in the afternoon which was a bit of a bummer but other than that it was a great day

Probably (maybe, weather permitting) doing PFS on Sunday.

I know that you can't use the cycle paths to return - can anyone suggest a route out of Murrayfield towards Kirkliston area that isn't too busy and that I can use with my road bike?

Thx!

Guessing here but I THINK there is a cycle route from Murrayfield to The Gyle, and thereafter you can cycle on the path down the side of the Airport road (A8?) to Newbridge and take the back road to Kirkliston. Never cycled it myself but I've seen people do that - no doubt someone will be along soon to tell me I'm talking mince.

The suggested route on Google takes you via Stenhouse Dr, Broomhouse Dr, South Gyle Broadway to Gogar Rbt - cross at the lights and take the path. You CAN cycle along Corstorphine Road in the bus lane direct to the Gyle, depends how you feel about cycling in bus lanes (considering there will be no restrictions on a Sunday).

Anyone care to comment on this route? Not sure about the A803 between Linlithgow and Falkirk - a bit busy?
