I'd strongly recommend against the Langster. A terrible bandwagon poser device.

BB too low to safely ride fixed without risking pedal strike, appalling brake placement.

I'm covered in scars because of mine

Orange one comes with claris groupset :shy:

I do like the cube
I thought claris was the new Sora? wont go much wrong with any cube, stuarts putting 500 quid wheels on his 700 quid bike as he cant fault how its set up, and that has tiagra on it. very comfortable on long days, and spec for your buck I havent seen beaten on any similar bikes.

read this review on a Claris spec Cube the other day . If it was me, id head up a level or two to the Peleton Race or SL and move up to 105 with better wheels. Believe @Harry_Palmer79 newest stead is the 2015 Peloton Race

to echo @Fubar , given the limitations you have getting allowed out on longer rides , is a new road bike really what you need just now? if you want VFM from your budget, maybe something more robust you can use into winter would be a better call. Commuter style with 28 tyres on it?

Steel.
Disc breaks.
Nuff said.

On the roadie note, I was out on one, it hurt. Do you roadies have any advice for sore shoulder's and back? or should I just stick it back in the shed and forget about it?
Get a bike fitting.
Handlebar height relative to saddle height is more important on a road bike than on a flat barred bike because you're more leaned forward and have a narrower profile. (Or maybe that's just me...)

are you positioned so your shoulders are bent?

No idea, feels a bit weird, my friend Sammy said the handlebars were a bit narrow and the stem might be to long for me.
The only thing was I enjoyed the lack of friction from the tyres, could freewheel for miles (mabey I'm too used to 760 bars and 52 mm tyres).

I might give it another try, but prefer my MTB so far.

As far as I know Claris is below Sora

I'm hoping once I'm better to get the miles in again, back in May time I was doing about 100-200 miles a week so it's not like I've not been doing enough riding.

If i had the money I'd be getting a solid steel disc brake bike for the commute and a decent enough roadie for the times I do get out for longer but sadly I've got to choose

hmmmm...not sure about buying another triban but for £600 this seems to be pretty decent

What about a steel roadie. Carbon forks as well so can't be whacked for longer rides. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/jamis/quest-comp-2015-road-bike-ec072106

Given that I dropped £180 on Aksiums and you're unlikely to source a 105 gruppo for much under £300 (even the older 10-speed 105), you're basically getting the frame and forks for next to sod all.

That was my thinking, for some reason I'm being a great deal more fussy this time round  A huge reason for me not getting another Triban was the wheels but this bike clearly solves that problem :banghead:

Could be worse. You could be looking at dropping a silly amount on a steel touring bike for use in a mid-life crisis.
