Erm, yes, there should be parking - the question is do you want to find your car in the state you left it?

Lights - I'd advise front lights you can see by (including upcoming pot-holes, even though we try to choose good surfaces) while on unlit back roads during the darkest part of the night, with back-up lights for the the early and late part, as
