I don't have any targets this year. I just warned you I was close after your early year baiting about me not cycling when we had roads covered in ice for months.

No misbehaving on my legs, they are out turning peddles each night as streamlined as bib shorts since start of march legs should be :bicycle:.

So, having been off the bike all of last year, and not being as young as I used to be, I'm struggling a bit on hills.

I can either:

MTFU and get hill fit OR
Fit a medium RD and an 11-32 OR
Both

Thoughts?
Both

I manage most hills on the 34/28 combination but I occasionally feel I could do with another bail out gear............and the old knees are starting to feel it a bit these days too so I sympathise.

Get some miles in and the rest will follow :okay:

I find this to not really be the case. I've done loads of miles over the years without getting any better at climbing, it was only once I started deliberately seeking out climbs in the last year or so that I've improved as a climber, last week's patellar idiocy notwithstanding...

I think for @GlasgowFinn just getting on the bike is a good start, once you have some fitness behind you then go looking for the more challenging hillier routes :okay:

I suspect a mix of both is true and I also suspect @GlasgowFinn knows exactly what he needs to do and is just seeking the motivation to do it - sounds more like a mojo issue than a hill issue...

He said "I'm struggling a bit on hills.", not "I'm not riding enough". Obviously you don't go out and do hill reps with little base fitness, but the only way to get better at hills is to ride up them...

So yes, get out there and get your hoof on, @GlasgowFinn :bravo:
