Barratt homes - you get what you pay for :-)
Ahhhh yes; good ol' Barratt homes. I was the guy who bought one in 1986, and must have been one of the few people in the UK who LOST money on a property - in the 80's :notworthy:.
Never mind, the experience of living in a Barratt home has put me in good stead for the odd night when I have to sleep in the cab of a lorry, although I am at a loss as to why there is so much living space in the lorry .

Time to roll out the old Barratt Homes jokes then? The only one remotely suitable for a family site that I can remember:

What's the difference between a Barratt Home and an STD?
You can get rid of an STD!
Oh how I laughed in 1989 when I was desperately trying to get rid of mine (the Barratt home, that is :okay:).

Was it one of those Barrats kits ?, they built a few houses in the 80s in timber kit form then went back to traditional build .
To be fair I would rather have a Barratt house traditionally built than a kit home .

Not sure.. I just remember it being somewhat "compact"! To be honest, it wasn't bad to live in. Probably better than the place I'm in just now which is falling apart.

Can't even get my head round sitting on a bike for that length of time I'm afraid. 36 miles in pouring rain this morning was more than enough.

I think you'd be a perfect candidate for Audax. The number of miles you put in every week could be easily converted into the occasional Audax, and just do less in the days leading up to it. Never say never! Also you'd probably bring down the average age of the entrants!

:okay:
For anybody wondering about trying an audax but not wanting to head straight for some bigger ones, there are a couple of taster audaxes (50k, 100k) on June 21st, as part of the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling, with very generous minimum speeds, so no worries about getting timed out .
If you do decide to give it a try, you might get your brevet card stamped by yours truly somewhere along the route, or welcomed back to the hall at the finish :thanks:. I believe there will be cake and stuff as well for anybody who has finished :hungry:.
If you are thinking you might want to volunteer to help out instead, please get in touch :okay:.

Nicely linked! That was smoother than The One Show. When Shaun launches CycleChat TV I know who'll be on the sofa presenting! :okay:

Oh, I just looked at my signature and realised that I hit 3000km for the year so far .
A bit down on last year, but there were a couple of weeks of downtime in January due to a snow-related holiday :giggle:
