Sounds like some preventative (= holding-knee-in-right-place-muscles) need to be strengthened too @Edwardoka.

GWS - you're supposed to be navigating the CC Ecosse Tour this year ... according to OMIL @Fubar ! :okay:
I'm sure I'll have recovered in plenty of time for the tour... if not, I can bring up the arrière du peloton.

I'm more concerned with the Pyrenean trip in 4 weeks time. Given how much I spent on it (no refunds :surrender:) I REALLY can't afford to miss it.
Maybe I can do the Steve Abraham thing and ride it on a human powered chaise longue...

I tried the foam roller yesterday but it was far too sore. Going to give it a couple of days of RICE and hope the inflammation calms down.

Aye the foam roller is sore but it gets easier, you can actually feel the tight muscles when you get the right spot

IT band isn't muscle, it's fascia. I rather like foam roller pain when loosening off a knot or tight spot but this is sharp too-sore-to-touch pain rather than the beautiful agony of deep muscle tissue being released

@Edwardoka - there are some really good ITB stretches that you can do as gently as needed... hope you get better soon!
