Great service from Islabikes. I only ordered it yesterday.

Seems very sturdy. Am quite tempted to have a go :cycle:. If this weather keeps up the 38mm knobbly tyres might be handy for the commute.

On a completely different note :secret: it looks like we'll have a wee Audax as part of EdFoC next June :hyper:... watch this space ...T

Sounds interesting! There's a bit of a gap in the Audax calendar around the summer next year because of Paris-Brest-Paris. Look forward to hearing more about your plans.
By the way, page 44 of the handbook says, "If you're planning a new event, start with a 200km event"... Just saying  ;)

Looks like there is a wee cyclist in the making, @edindave
T

He's never really shown much interest in cycling, and I wasn't keen to persuade him into it. But recently he said he wanted a bike. Finally! :wahhey:

Well, that's my ice bike ready to assume commuting duties tomorrow.
Does not even feel that cold outside, wanna bet I jinxed the weather forecast of temperatures around zero?
By the by, I'm getting no bad at this mechanical pavlava: wheel set changed, gears indexed (ok, there are only 5 of them ), brakes adjusted ... and I took the cranks off Boris too, ready for new ones :becool:
Missed my wee commute on my days off :bicycle:

If only I had ice tyres for tomorrow
If it's like here you will need them! A covering of snow which has now frozen....currently -2 :cold: Hope it's better there. Stay safe.

If things had gone differently in the summer it could have been me building that up for you. (Went for an assembly job at Islabikes but fluffed the assessment & interview due to nerves.:shy:)

That's a shame Phil . They seem like a good company to work for. Excellent customer service - they actually phoned me to check I received an email when they got a message saying it could not be delivered. The weird thing was I had received it.

Yeah minus1.5 in Dunfermline this morning, though South Edinburgh seems worse as it's had snowfall which has then frozen - a bit slippy walking into town this morning!

Cowdenbeath has had snow fall then more snow fall and its now iced over, main roads were not bad this morning but wasnt a day for being on a bike without ice tyres

has @Edwardoka not sold you his at a knock-down price yet?!? They are second-hand after all ;)

TBH I would still be wary on ice tyres, you might be fine but I'd worry about the cars that couldn't control themselves!
