Went alright. Wind was a nightmare. Finished in a pb for that race, probably had a pb in me, but in trying to prevent blisters, the tape came loose and blistered me further back in my foot.

In better news, became an uncle again today. Wee brothers gf had their baby boy today. Have another way on way in may, so may curb my cycling spending for a while buying baby stuff

That's a shame, I was looking forward to admiring the shiny new steed on Saturday .
Will have to make do with pictures on Sunday ... and wait for PoP or the Three Ferries ride , unless another CC Ecosse ride magically appears between late March and late April (hint hint ;)) ...

I had a couple of days off the bike recently due to being a lazy git and not getting out of bed early enough so, even though I was late up today, the sun streaming through my window when I opened the curtains meant I couldn't possibly let the train take the strain today! (I really hate being at work knowing I should have biked in and seeing the sun out the window, mocking me) :sun:. Also, after a bit of faffing last night, I got my new front gear cable fitted, adjusted the derailleur limits, indexed the gears etc, which meant I could take the T5 instead of the Clydesdale (as my mum likes to call it)... Happy Days! :hyper: (Or it would be if I wasn't doing mind-numbing e-learning courses to make up my mandatory five days for the year :banghead:... ho hum!)

Did the A77 over Fenwick Moor in the aforementioned howler today, the words brick wall spring to mind, granny gearing up 1% inclines and hitting 7 mph. The return over Clunch Road and back up the awesome B769 with the wind at my back and the sun breaking through was a lot better...

I did something quite similar on Sunday, only in reverse. Near standstill on the not-terribly steep bits heading up out of Neilston - but hitting 45+ mph down into Eaglesham without really trying or going on the drops.
