New bikes on show for the ride :-) I'll be on the winter steed as I'm still waiting for Bianchi to supply new forks following a recall on the summer bike. And it's not stealthy but gloss white, which shows up dirt really well. I've been having a bit of chain suck on it, but have readjusted the front derailleur after fitting new chain rings (Praxis) and deep cleaned the chain. Out for 50 tomorrow, and 40 on Sunday to test it all works ok.

Haha! There's no way you're not bringing your new steed next weekend Bob! ^_^

We'll done for pulling the trigger. You can always cut the steerer tube as you get more comfortable with the position.
Also I don't think you'll notice any difference between 105 and ultegra with regards shifting.

:laugh:
I really could not bring my commuter. Heavy and cumbersome and slow. Ok with my slower mates around and up ventoux but strangely not good enough for the IoW^_^ who would have thought that?!?

Now do I also get spendy woosh wheeels!

I run both and the only diff is the weight and bulbous shifters I will change over in time. No rush.

little bit nervy about things
also - on the crossing-i may look a little confused to the untrained eye - if i stay inside i WILL be sick - if i stay outside i will freeze so i may be darting about on deck
what about bike locks ? i aint got one apart from a lightweight ski lock - do we need one on the ferry ?

Berty good luck mate I'm sure you'll be fine :okay:. You'll forget about it once you're back in the bike for a few minutes. Just a freak accident.

I'd more worried about Bob trying to jam a stick in your spokes if you look like you're getting away up a hill! :bicycle:. He doesn't take these things lightly :tongue:

No locks needed for the ferry

I need to do a route through Newport in case the Cowes ferry is still out of action, I'll try and sort that tomorrow

New bike bought and being collected Wednesday;

I have to say that although I ride a fairly aggressive posture on my Defy that this is something else entirely. I will be working on my flexibility.
Still, test ride felt good. Who knows, I may have to bring it with me next weekend.
Still not sure if coming up Friday mid afternoon to beat the rush hour bike ban on the train. Where is everyone staying?
I'll be driving direct to the ferry so will meet you all at the port Saturday morning.
