Tom, what time does the train get in to Brockenhurst?

The first train from Waterloo arrives at 8:16 and they seem to be pretty steady there after. What time were you thinking of heading of from Brockenhurst?

The ferry departs at 10am and we need to be there by 9:45am.

If we leave brockenhurst about 8:40/8:45 ish, that gives us an hour to do the 15.5 miles first part of the ride, it's flat at 130m of climb over the 15 miles and a third of that is in the first mile and a half. So with a fair wind we should knock that off in 50 - 55 minutes or so.

Mrs B has got mid afternoon theatre tickets for the sunday so that may be difficult for me-she forgot I was away.

When I checked last night I think it said 98 mile walking route on google maps from my front door. My thinking is that I'd rather be cooked on the way home and jump on a train potentially. Rather than feeling knackered on the group ride.

Sure, sunday trains into Waterloo with engineering works might be an issue. check nearer the time.

Cheers Berty. I'm still weighing up my options to be honest. At the moment I'm thinking 'can I get a b&b to post my overnight bag to my address so I don't have to peddle home with it'

Just thinking it's probably worth taking lights on Saturday just in case. Sunset will be about 7pm by then which will probably be close to the time we finish - and there's always the possibility of unexpected delays
