it would be nice if there was some sportive at the right time for everybody maybe central or northern so easyish to get to for all so we could entice the welsh lot over the border - would be good to see them again maybe Jim could be coaxed and even our Alaskan friend if it was a good enough venue - if he started rowing now it would be cheaper than a flight and he would miss all the snow !

Very true Breedon. From what I understand Bianchi may not sponsor the event and / or it won't be the same epic route that they've used the last few years. I suppose what I'm pondering is if people would fancy trying a different event instead. Isn't there a closed road event in Wales that goes through Brecon?

I think that's only closed road climbs, the fully closed road wales sportive is Velothon Wales, it starts and finished in Cardiff.

There are a few sportives in the peak district.

or i'm happy to put something together (if someone else would like to pick an area), it would be worth looking a youth hostels for accommodation. I can put together different route options
