Bottecchia roadbike, 1984, now a hybrid
Centurion roadbike, 1977,:early Panasonic
Brompton explore 6sp
Cannondale, 1996 tandem mountain bike
Gazelle Dutch bike, rod operated drum brakes, Mmmmmmmm….
Trek Domane roadbike
another Domane… the price was right.
Trek Electra e bike

and some motorcycles…

So many bikes are for sale at the moment at the right price.

The second Domane, like my Bottechia and my Centurion, was free. This society is pretty quick to throw things out, I’m just doing my best to keep these things out of the landfill.

my trash Centurion…

Five; all steel..

1987 Raleigh Routier - budget / town / pseudo-tourer - was the pub /shopping beater when I was in Oxford but currently doesn't have a use
2016 Fuji Touring - budget tourer - the current rural shopping / utility hack
2020 Genesis Croix de Fer 30 - slightly posh gravel bike - not seen much use in the past few years due to fit issues
2021 Brompton C-Line Explore - folder - saviour of the commute for the past 18 months
2022 Ragley Big Wig - hardtail MTB - bought to dip my toe in more challenging terrain; awaiting more frame protection to appease my anxiety

The current situation's not ideal as storage is problematic and only the Fuji and Brompton really see any use. I'm hoping circumstances will change in the coming year then I'll re-assess things.

In practice I'd like just one perfect retro-modern randonneur bike to do absolutely everything; although I know this isn't practical. On top of that there are many different bikes I'd like to own just for the love of them - a nice old high-end road bike, a vintage tourer, a hub-geared sit-up-and-beg town wafter, a fat bike...

Currently three bikes and half shares in a tandem.
Late 90’s Specialized stump jumper touring mountain bike, 2008 Specialized Rockhopper hard tail mountain bike and a cheapie Dawes Giro road bike.
The Dawes gets used on the turbo trainer.
It’s the woman’s model. Same as the man’s, only with girlie lavender handlebar tape. It could do with shorter cranks and shorter reach brake levers.🤪

Currently updating the house and contents insurance which has a special section for cycles. Made me realise there have been some changes since I last did this!
My trusty Brompton succumbed to rear triangle rot some time ago and was given to a local bike refurbing charity as I no longer commute by train. I might have kept it otherwise as they make excellent ‘guest bikes’ being adjustable to fit almost anybody.
Then there was a rather lovely but tatty Sun club bike belonging, appropriately, to my son. Under a disguise of knobbly thick white Woolworth’s enamel it was a fetching pale metallic lilac with nickel plated stays and forks! it left home when son did, but I don’t know if he ever finished the projected restoration.
Joining the fleet have been a second recumbent, and my wife’s current hybrid runabout that replaced a similar previous one. Old stagers remaining are my original Linear recumbent, and a tatty but still game representative of the first ever Ridgeback model. An important non-bike addition has been a very versatile bike trailer/buggy. Not cheap but very useful from time to time.
I'm sure there could also be a thread for ‘bikes I regret getting rid of’. Top of my list would be my old Dawes Red Feather (paradoxically, it was actually blue) which I threw away in a fit of depression years ago. I wouldn’t ride it now, but it would look great hanging on the wall. Except I haven’t got a wall big enough to hang it on. Ah well, all things come to an end, and I am very content with my current ‘stable’.

Currently I have these:
1. Elephant Bike (Pashley Mailstar)- for shopping and local trips.
2. Genesis Flyer SS - for riding to work
3. Surly Pacer- not used so much now, plan to strip it down and get the stuck seat post removed then rebuild.
4. My old Paul Milnes 'cross bike, currently under a cover outside. I need to move this on, no space. Kept it as a snow bike.
