She didn't bother doing that with the injured male child she exploited to add what she thought was credibility to her misguided rantings.

Who's opinion on the law counts more, me or a policeman?
Last time I checked wearing a cycle helmet wasn't a law

Do you suppose she ever works around Brentford? I was once cycling on the Brentford High street, and an ambulance turned on it's siren just as it passed my back wheel. Scared the bejesus out of me. At the time I thought it was a driver concerned about getting to an emergency and just not thinking (starting the siren 2 seconds later would have caused no delay, and I wouldn't have palpitations), but now I wonder if it was Ella, giggling to herself as she put another notch on her stethoscope.

(yeah, I know she's a paramedic. I've no idea if they ever drive ambulances, though)

Maybe Alexander Philip Harvey Mitchell has signed up as a paramedic after his graphics business hit the buffers...?

You see the point is that people start to believe this crap and other ill informed crap just like it and very soon people are calling for compulsion based on zero base evidence. Now look at Australia and report back.
This shoot matters.

This **** matters.
Why does it matter if someone believes it and wears a helmet? What's the worse that's gonna happen?

We are talking the decision to wear a cycle helmet which is hardly earth shattering stuff

Australia is totally irrelevant, we are talking about the UK

If I or many others decide to wear a helmet based on the bloggers comments it's our choice so why does it matter to you what we do?

Because this errant nonsense builds into ill-informed pressure for helmet compulsion - and at that point Australia becomes highly relevant.

Don't care what you do but she was promoting a pro-compulsion campaign and if politicians believe her blog that could affect all cyclists.
Can we not be a wee bit more generous to the lass. May be she got caught up in the surreal world of the internet and has said a few things in public that she shouldn't have (from time to time it happens to many of us) Clearly like many many many other people she has a problem with cyclists as they appear to get in the way of their precious auto-mobiles.

We have pointed out to her the we are also human, we don't want shouted at, told what to do, told to ride in single file in the gutter, and we generally don't want to be abused. In response she has taken down the two offending blogs.

Can we not just leave it at that?
Not quite what happened. Look at her advice to shout at cyclists, when it was raised first she said "I wondered when someone would start using clever quotes". What the hell does that mean? They're her words, and she refused to take them down because she thought I'd been rude. She thinks people are trying to trick her by, er, quoting what she said. She could have spent thirty seconds to discover that when cyclists ride three feet from the gutter it's not to annoy drivers, it's to stay alive. Instead she used that as ammunition to call cyclists "idiots". She's encouraging hate and aggression on the roads. For more than a year. And this three years after being warned about her use of social media.

You're right she's not very bright, before she removed those pages she said "How can what I've said be wrong, I've had half a million page hits!"

How do you deal with rank stupidity of that calibre?

She does seem a little deluded. She's claiming on her twitter feed that she's taken the cyclist related blogs down because she received vile abuse, but I didn't see any vile abuse, I saw maybe one slightly rude reply, but nothing worse than some of the offensive remarks she was dishing out herself. I suspect, it's more to do with the fact that one of the replies mentioned that she'd not done enough to maintain confidentiality and is now worried that her employers/professional body will see the content.
She comes across as very bitter and quite dishonest, not just about cyclists, but about her service users in general. I understand that this happens, but such views are best expressed privately. I think her nasty views reflect very badly on her organisation.
