I don't know much about Cinco de Mayo
Doors blowing open INSIDE the house, despite all exterior doors and windows being closed! Mastic lifted round front door and rain penetrating. Flood sirens sounded hours ago. Looks like Calder Valley is flooding AGAIN but I am not going to go out to check! If things settle down enough later I will nip out to the local corner shop for milk. Mind you, they are in the flood zone so they may be shut. This house is showing as being 3 metres from the area likely to flood but within the 'at risk' area!

It's depressing to see more flooding in the valley- hope that the rain eases in the afternoon, as forecast, and that it stays the right side of the tipping point so that properly destructive flooding isn't seen

Oh, dear... I could hear traffic noise so I thought the A646 must still be open but I have just seen cars turning towards it, stopping, and reversing back the way they'd come. For the first time in the 5 years that I have lived here I can see a torrent of water coming down the road off the hillside.

Just been up to the attic for a better view from the Velux window. It does look like the next street downhill from here is at risk. I probably have JUST enough extra elevation to get away with it but there are going to be a lot of property owners in the valley who have only just recovered from the last bout of flooding who will get hit again.

Hmm, there is a couple of cms of water in my cellar. There isn't much of value down there but the electricity distribution board is about 1.5 metres up from the floor...

More reports later - if I still have power, or a phone signal!

Popped out earlier to visit the 'outlaw'. Fair bit of tree debris and localised flooding. Really picked up now, loads of rain. I suspect more flooding. I'm at the top of a hill though

Bin lid came off, that's now weighed down.👅
That was on the 11.00 news just before the Coronavirus update......."a binlid has reportedly blown off. Yet to be confirmed"^_^

I really should venture into my garage to replace the non-existant brake pads on the MTB - they 'vanished' a couple of weekends ago on a very wet and muddy ride.

I think locking pins are getting weaker, managed not to loose a pad the other week but no sign of the pin. Almost not raining so took the opportunity to put the road bike back in the bike shed having put some new bar tape on it.

It's got a bit brisker here, but still not enough to get excited about. Work from my sources is that the roof has lifted off one of the buildings at poshshire police headquarters. None of the Deathkill murder class 13 massacre exploding slaughter storm warnings helped them there.
