Not sure why the pic is sideways, missed most things apart from a rose bush and a small garden statue !

Doors blowing open INSIDE the house, despite all exterior doors and windows being closed! Mastic lifted round front door and rain penetrating. Flood sirens sounded hours ago. Looks like Calder Valley is flooding AGAIN but I am not going to go out to check! If things settle down enough later I will nip out to the local corner shop for milk. Mind you, they are in the flood zone so they may be shut. This house is showing as being 3 metres from the area likely to flood but within the 'at risk' area!
Local "flood committee" were meeting on Wednesday & Thursday, for this weekend.

Seems to have settled somewhat here, going out for a walk to survey any damage. Dog walkers coming past have told me there's lots of trees down in the area, Royden Park, hit I hear.

It would be a good day to smash some Strava records though. Catch the winds in the right direction and you would be flying along (literally)

Popped out earlier to visit the 'outlaw'. Fair bit of tree debris and localised flooding. Really picked up now, loads of rain. I suspect more flooding. I'm at the top of a hill though

Bin lid came off, that's now weighed down.👅

"It's not windy and rainy here therefore it's not rainy or windy anywhere" is a hell of a hill to die on:cuppa:

Thought you were going to the sea?
Thats tomorrow. Its a matter of getting the high water times to suit while also getting tides that are high enough eg 60mph wind is not enough if its only a 7.0 mtr high tide.
The maximum high tide at Liverpool is 10.2 mtrs (that is high). Twice, maybe thrice per year you get those high's.......tomorrow will be 9.75 around lunch time.

I've done some research and I think what we're experiencing today is called "winter".
I might share this news with the BBC.
The BBCs weather service is provided using data from MeteoGroup, as with any public body they have to accept the lowest bid for a service subject to it meeting the criteria set. The service was previously provided by the Met Office who have this to say on today weather and which equally is missing the use of the word winter

I was about to check on you since Todmorden was trending on twitter because of the sirens. Hope you're safe!
