Some observations from the gym for you to mull over. I went in today to find parts of the floor pissed wet through. The assistant mopping the floor had gone round mopping what i presume are sweaty bits on the floor. I don't think he's been told yet that you have to wring mops out before mopping up. There wasn't a yellow warning sign usually put down to warn of slippery floors either. Then how about this! Yesterday i walked down the stairs to the reception to find a female assistant jumping off the lap/knee of a male member of staff as they saw me approaching. Canoodling while on duty indeed! It's a bit like a Carry On film in there. I think the place kind of runs itself.
Now for the serious bit. The pool won't be available again for 4 to 6 weeks, but not only that, the whole place shuts for 9 long days over the Christmas period! Yes we can use the sports centre in Accrington, but that's 3 miles away. So i've paid for the use of the gym and pool up till the middle of next January.but there's no pool for a month or so and the place is shut completely for a period which i've paid for! I can't say i'm happy about that!:headshake:
Shame that staff can’t have a break over the Christmas period so people can go run on a moving belt.

Moving belt? What about the clients/customers on holiday from their jobs who might fancy burning some of those over indulgent calories off? There's a clue in the title of Leisure Centre. Leisure is something one does in one's leisure or holiday time, which they can't do if the place is shut. Maybe the staff could have staggered holidays and not all have them at the same time as each other.

I do think its unusaual for a gym to close for 9 days over Christmas. I wouldn't too happy about it. However you have been doing a lot of exercise so a few days rest might do you good. Pools closing for various reasons isn't all that unusual.

The 'personal trainer' came up to me as i finished on the static bike tonight. She said she thinks i'm over doing it,not only in the effort i'm putting in,but the time i'm in there and because i've been every day since joining 3 weeks ago. She said i'm not getting recovery time,so 'it'll affect me later in life'. I haven't herd that one before! I know about recovery time, but not that if you don't take it it'll affect you later in life. I asked if i was barred for my own sake. She said no,but maybe i should think about barring myself and doing 3 or 4 sessions a week instead of every day. I don't feel fatigued like i do after a long bike ride when a day off is welcomed. If i was tired i'd slow down, but i feel so much fitter since joining. Anyway, she's on maternity leave from Saturday so maybe after then it won't be mentioned again...hopefully.
