She is correct

Sounds like you've become a bit obsessed, maybe a day or 2 off per week wouldn't be such a bad thing?
Yeah, maybe a day off would do me good. I told her that i used the swimming pool for recuperation, but seeing as it isn't in use for a month at least then....
I'm going to ask if they'll let me use the sauna/steam room seeing as the pool isn't available. I don't see why not,but you never know these days with their rules and regulations.

She also said that standing on the pedals of the static bike for 20 minutes at maximum resistance isn't good for me. That's another one i haven't heard before.

Ok,has anyone had this said to them before? Quote....."You can't bring that banana into the gym". Yes that's what was said to me by a member of staff this evening. I asked why and was told,,'health and safety'. What,in case someone slips on the discarded skin?, i sarcastically asked. I didn't get an explanation, just that food isn't allowed. Now i could understand if it was a McDonalds,a KFC bucket or pie and peas from the local chippy but this isn't mainly food it's nourishment i thought. I've always had a banana when doing physical exertion. In the 30 years i've been taking part in physical exertion i've never been told that i can't take food when i'm exercising! Never mind the rules about mobile phones not allowed due to annoying loud conversations, where that is ignored. Or when someone sits on a weights machine seat to fanny around with their phone, while others are waiting to use that machine, oh no just ignore that and concentrate on banning the intake of fuel ffs!!:banghead:

I think banning food in the gym exercise areas is perfectly reasonable. Years ago I used a gym regularly and never saw anyone eating. I joined a gym two weeks ago for the spin classes and haven't seen anyone eating yet.

My view would be a banana, or other foods, are of no value to your body while doing gym work. To be of any value you would be spending hugely excessive time in the gym. Different matter on a bike, walking etc.

You’re in the wrong gym. Our place let’s us eat in there. I’m often found reaching for a bowl of seafood pasta or a little hit of Thai red curry to keep my reps consistent through the work-out. Big, frothy milkshake and a Kit Kat does me the world of good on the rower.

I thought it was just me getting the rules and regulations stuff, but a bloke told me he got told off the other week for taking his tracksuit bottoms off in the gym. He said he had shorts underneath so nothing exposed, but they said they'd seen him on cctv and he's supposed to 'undress' in in the changing rooms. I suppose i could make a banana smoothie but i don't have a blender.
