It is fiddly on my phone but... Marsh Rd, looking south?

I want to get out on my bike now. If you haven't confirmed by the time that I get back I will switch to my laptop for a better view!

EDIT: Oops - there's another page of posts .... That was waste of my time then :-)

That was a big clue. That said, I'm not sure if this is correct, but I think it /must/ be ...

For me it was the most tiresome stretch of The Bay Cycleway, but certainly a better option than the A6.
Really? Odd. I like that road, and the flatland road north of it, from Brigsteer to near Levens. I think that's mainly since, unlike most of the roads around there, they're quite novel, being straight, flat, generally different. They make a nice change.

I find long flat stretches are just work work work and it was towards the end of a long ride for me. No up-hills to get me out of the saddle for a short while, no downhills so i can rest my legs for a moment. It seemed to go on forever and was glad to reach Arnside and Silverdale's hills.

The first time that I tackled those roads I was with a friend who is not a cyclist, riding the Bay Way together. I had promised to keep it easy so we took 5 days, but that did include an extra day up the side of Coniston Water to Hawkshead. She was very grateful for those flat roads!

She was with me again on the recent holiday. We did that stretch from Meathop to Arnside and then caught the train back to G-o-S. The local authority is talking about adding a shared use path to the side of Kent viaduct for cyclists and walkers to use in future, which would cut out the need to go round the end of the bay.

Here is my next road. There are a couple of obvious features so I suspect that clues will not be needed, but I have a couple lined up if they are.

Is that the Whitehouse pub above Littleborough by any chance?
It might have been... if you could see it from there, but you can't - it is out of sight at the top! That is actually a white car!

Correct - well done. Over to you...

I had typed out responses to @MontyVeda (yes - that IS the route of an old Roman road) and @Alex321 (No, it is NOT anywhere near Hadrian's Wall!) but forget to click post after I got distracted by a phone call.

I had also prepared another clue which was that it was in the Pennines but was not on the Pennine Way (which is up on the top of that hill) or the Pennine Bridleway (which is behind where the StreetView car was).

I cycled up the Old Blackstone Edge road with a local friend recently and was amazed to discover that in over 30 years of riding up and down from Blackstone Edge on the A58 he had never thought to check out this nice little diversion. I usually go up the steeper old road (little traffic and better views) and down the A58 (quicker).
