Height Road... an easy find once I'd noticed the water in the distance and stopped looking in Lancashire, plus the knobbly hill on the right is distinctly South Lakes.

It is a great road with fine views towards Morecambe Bay (which I made sure was just visible in the photo to aid identification). I am sure that @Domus will know it from his frequent rides in the area?

I rode it a few months ago on a short break near Grange-over-sands. I was then surprised by an exciting steep hairpinned descent back down Tow Top Road.

As you say, cracking views over the Bay. Ridden many times but the scary, steep descent only once. 😱

You're both doing Tow Top Brow all wrong you should be going up it, not down. That's much nicer, and probably safer. It's 13.6% over one kilometre, and that includes about 200m at the top which is more like 5%, so the properly steep bit is, well, properly steep. Great climb, but definitely not a great descent.

That is exactly what I thought when I went down it!

I will do it next time that I am riding in that area.
